AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who plays as captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 until 2020. [8][9The 8-year-old Morgan was selected by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. She made her debut with the club and assisted the team win its league championship. Morgan was 22, at the time was the youngest athlete in the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team was runner-up. At the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal the 123rd minute of the semi-final game against Canada. She was the second player in the U.S. to score 21 assists and 20 goals in 2012. This made her the youngest and sixth most prolific player to achieve 20 goals in one year. She was then awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 as well as the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, in which she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments, while she won the Silver Boot in 2019.
