Sagal was born on 19 January 1954 in Los Angeles to a family that included show business executives, and five children. Two of them, Sara Zwilling (she was known as Sara Macon), was Sara Zwilling's mom. Sara Zwilling died in 1975 due to heart disease. Boris Sagal worked as the director of television. Her Ukrainian-Jewish grandfather also was her father. She was the daughter of Amish ancestors. [5] Sagal's father, Marge Champion (dancer/actress) was married to actress McNally Sagal around 1977.
